Affiliate & Commission Options

The platform supports multiple ways to compensate creators based on performance. You can run commission-only, hybrid (cash or gifting + commission), or manual tracking setups—even if you don’t have a formal affiliate program in place.

If you need a deeper understanding of how to configure the platform to align with your desired campaign structure, learn more in the Filling Out Payment Section article.

1) If you already have an affiliate program

Choose Commission / Affiliate in the Payment section and outline your terms (commission % and any basic conditions). The platform will:

  • Direct creators to the right place to get their code or link (e.g., your network portal or brand instructions).

  • Store and display the final code/link per creator inside the campaign so your team has a single source of truth.

The platform does not currently integrate directly with networks like Impact, ShareASale, or AWIN. Conversion and payout calculations remain in your affiliate platform or ecommerce analytics.

Use exported data (creator roster, codes/links) alongside your affiliate/ecommerce reports to reconcile performance and commissions.

When to use

  • You want sales-tied incentives at scale with your existing tools.

  • You need creators to self-serve codes/links via your affiliate program.

You can still track conversions without a network by issuing Shopify discount codes and/or UTM-tracked URLs.

Two tracking patterns

  • Unique code/URL per creator (recommended)

    • Best for granular attribution and ROI analysis.

    • Enter each creator’s code/URL during selection (or “TBD” and update later).

  • Single campaign code/URL for everyone

    • Simple to manage, but you only get campaign-level performance, not creator-by-creator.

Workflow in the platform

  1. In the Payment section, choose Commission / Affiliate (or document commission terms in the notes if you’re pairing with cash/gifting).

  2. Upon selection, you’ll be prompted to provide a code and/or URL for that creator.

    • If it’s not ready, enter “TBD” to proceed; update later in the Management section.

  3. Track results in your ecommerce/analytics tool (Shopify reports, GA4 with UTMs, etc.). Use exports from the platform to join creator rosters with sales results offline.

Note on payouts: The platform releases payments only after deliverables are completed (per your brief). Commission calculations and payouts based on sales should be handled via your affiliate/ecommerce process until direct integrations are available.

3) Hybrid compensation models

You can combine affiliate/commission with other incentives:

  • Cash + Commission: Offer a lower flat fee to ensure participation, plus a commission to reward performance.

  • Gifting + Commission: Seed product and pay a % of sales to encourage authentic content and ongoing promotion.

When to use

  • You want creators motivated to post well and continue promoting after the initial deliverable.

  • You need a lower upfront cost while still rewarding outcome-driven results.

Best practices (applies to all setups)

  • Match effort to incentive: Bigger asks (multiple posts, bio link, paid usage rights) warrant higher fixed fees and/or commission tiers.

  • Make codes readable: Use a clear naming convention (e.g., BRAND-CREATORNAME-10) and set clear expirations if applicable.

  • Use UTMs consistently: Append campaign, source, and creator identifiers to URLs so you can attribute traffic and conversions cleanly in analytics.

  • Decide on granularity: Unique codes/links per creator enable true performance benchmarking; a single code is simpler but limits insight.

  • Communicate clearly: Put commission % and any conditions (eligible products, stackable discounts, timeline) in your campaign brief and contract.

Current limitations & roadmap

  • No direct affiliate network integrations (Impact, ShareASale, AWIN, etc.) today. Release timelines for integrations will be shared as they become available.

  • The platform does not ingest sales/conversion events from affiliate networks yet. Use your ecommerce/affiliate analytics for performance, and combine with exports for holistic reporting.

  • Not today. Provide codes/links from your affiliate program or create them manually (e.g., Shopify). Enter them at selection or use “TBD” and update later.

  • Yes. Edit it any time in the Management section.

  • Strongly recommended if you want creator-level ROI. Use a single campaign code if simplicity matters more than granular attribution.

  • Payouts tied to sales should be processed through your affiliate/ecommerce system. The platform handles deliverable-based payments; it does not calculate or disburse sales commissions at this time.
