Negotiating with Influencers in Offer Management Section

Overview

The platform enables you to manage influencer offer negotiations. Adjust proposed rates, add personalized messages, and send counteroffers to effectively collaborate with influencers. Monitor negotiation progress and respond to influencer actions to finalize agreements.

Offer Negotiation

Negotiation is a normal part of influencer marketing. Creators may propose rates or terms that differ from what you’ve budgeted, and the platform makes it easy to collaborate toward a fair agreement. With built-in offer management, you can adjust rates, add context, and track responses—all in one place.

Why Negotiation Matters

  • Flexibility attracts more applicants. Campaigns that allow negotiation typically receive higher application volume because creators feel empowered to discuss terms.

  • Collaboration builds relationships. Influencers who feel respected during negotiation are more likely to deliver high-quality work and remain open to future campaigns.

  • Budget control. Negotiation allows you to align creator rates with your budget while still recruiting strong talent.

How to Send a Counteroffer

To propose a revised rate for an influencer, navigate to the 'Offer Management' section and select the influencer. Click "Counter Offer" This will open a new module where you can input your counter offer.

Understanding All the Negotiation Levers Available

Depending on the options you selected when setting up the campaign (in the Collaboration Tab), you can negotiate based on:

  • Rate

  • Number of deliverables (on a single or multiple platforms)

  • Organic or Ecom Usage Term Length (how long you can use asset in your own marketing)

  • Paid Media Usage Term Length (how long you can use asset in paid media)

  • Allowlisting Usage Term Length (how long you can put paid on the creator's handle)

  • Exclusivity (how long a creator cannot work with a competitor)

You may also coordinate with the creator on deadline/timing, the level of freedom the creator will have over the content, future additional work, and additional gifted product as part of the negotiation process, though there are not dedicated fields in the platform to document these agreements.

Propose a different rate using the Counteroffer field.

Propose a Different Number of Deliverables

Use the dropdowns available to select a different number of deliverables for each platform and content type.

Propose Different Usage Length Terms

Use the dropdowns available to select different length terms.

Add a Personal Message to Your Counteroffer

To provide context and express your interest, use the 'Optional Message' field when sending a counteroffer. Communicate your reasons for the rate adjustment and why you wish to collaborate. This message accompanies your revised offer.

Personalize Your Offer

Add a personalized message to explain your reasoning and show genuine interest. This action increases the probability of offer acceptance.

Influencers are more likely to accept if they understand why you’re making a change. For example:

  • “We’d love to test this partnership with a smaller budget first, then expand into more posts if performance is strong.”

  • “This rate reflects our standard for nano creators in this campaign, but we’re very interested in your style and believe you’d be a great fit.”

Confirm Negotiation is Binding Prior to Submitting

If the creator accepts your counteroffer, their contract will be automatically updated to match the terms you laid out. So do not send a counteroffer that you would not be willing to accept. Prior to submitting, confirm that you understand you are sending a Binding offer by selecting the check box at the bottom of the module.

Once you send your Counter Offer, the influencer's application will move to the 'Under Negotiation' view, allowing you to track their response.

How Long Do Negotiations Take?

  • Negotiations typically take 1–3 business days to finalize.

  • Timelines vary depending on influencer availability and how many back-and-forth adjustments are made.

  • Most influencers respond quickly because they’re eager to secure collaborations, but leaving negotiations open too long may cause creators to lose interest.

Best Practice:
Set aside time each day to check the Under Negotiation tab and respond promptly. Timely communication keeps the process moving and shows professionalism.

Monitoring Negotiation Progress

  • All negotiations are centralized in the platform.

  • Each counteroffer, message, and response is logged in the influencer’s profile.

  • Your team can view progress in real time to avoid duplicate communication.

  • You can either accept their original rate, send another counteroffer, or decline the application altogether.

  • Yes. Negotiation can also cover exclusivity periods, usage rights, and deliverables. These options are set in the Collaboration section when configuring your campaign.

If you did not set these up correctly when launching your campaign, you will need to Complete the current campaign and launch a new one with the correct Collaboration configurations. You can use the Bulk Inbox Messaging feature to ask creators to apply to the new campaign once live.

  • There’s a limit of three, but most negotiations settle within 1–2 exchanges. Long back-and-forth discussions can slow activation and risk losing the influencer’s interest.

  • No. You can lock requirements and payment terms if you prefer fixed offers. However, campaigns that allow negotiation usually attract more applicants.
