Day 4: Pre-Launch Campaign Checklist

Overview

Before launching your first influencer marketing campaign, it’s important to make sure your brand is ready.
This checklist walks you through the essentials every marketer should confirm before inviting creators or spending budget on promotions.

Think of it as your foundation for success—the practical steps that ensure audiences and creators have a great experience from day one.

Step 1: Make Sure Your Website Works for New Visitors

Influencer campaigns drive traffic fast. Make sure you’re ready for it.

  • Confirm your website or landing page is live, mobile-friendly, and easy to navigate.

  • Ensure links lead directly to the product, collection, or signup page you want to promote.

  • Include clear calls to action (“Shop Now,” “Learn More,” “Sign Up”).

  • Add tracking pixels or UTM parameters if you plan to measure conversions.

Pro Tip: Avoid sending influencer traffic to a homepage that doesn’t match your campaign message—use a dedicated landing page whenever possible.

Step 2: Set Up and Verify Your Social Handles

Creators will tag your brand on social media, so your handles need to look credible and be easy to find.

  • Create or verify your brand handle on each platform you plan to use (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).

  • Use consistent names, logos, and bios across all profiles.

  • Post a few recent pieces of content so creators—and their audiences—can see who you are.

Pro Tip: Even 3–5 strong posts build trust when working with creators for the first time.

Step 3: Define Your Campaign Objective

Ask yourself: What do I want this campaign to accomplish?
Common goals include:

  • Increasing brand awareness or followers.

  • Driving traffic or sign-ups.

  • Generating sales or user-generated content.

Choose one clear goal for your first campaign—it’ll make setup and measurement much simpler.

Step 4: Know Your Audience

Before choosing creators, define who you want to reach.

  • Who is your ideal customer?

  • What age range, location, or interests do they have?

  • What type of content do they engage with most?

Knowing your audience helps you find creators who already speak to the people you want to reach.

Step 5: Gather Brand Assets and Messaging

Having consistent materials makes campaign setup smoother.

  • Prepare your logo, product images, and short brand description.

  • List key messages, hashtags, or product highlights.

  • Identify any “do not mention” topics or competitor restrictions.

Pro Tip: Keep direction simple—creators perform best when they understand the message but still have creative freedom.

Step 6: Determine Your Budget

Even small campaigns benefit from planning ahead.

  • Outline how much you’ll spend on creator incentives, paid media, and production.

  • Plan for a test-and-learn approach: start small, track results, and scale what works.

Step 7: Prepare to Track Performance

Decide how you’ll measure success.

  • Use the platform’s analytics or your own tracking tools.

  • Identify what metrics matter most (engagement, clicks, conversions).

Final Pre-Launch Checklist

  • Website or landing page is live and optimized for mobile.

  • Active social handles are ready and up to date.

  • Campaign goal is clearly defined.

  • Audience and brand assets are organized.

  • Budget and performance metrics are in place.
